City Council chief Raymond Johansen is not worried about crowded nightclubs after the reopening weekend in Oslo.

“I don’t want to provoke anyone by saying this, but it is well deserved, I think,” Raymond Johansen (AP) told the newspaper Avisa Oslo after Oslo residents enjoyed the nightlife in the capital during the weekend.

On Saturday, there were long queues at many of Oslo’s nightclubs after the corona restrictions were removed at 4 PM.

Johansen was among those who encouraged the people of Oslo to make the most out of the nightlife this weekend after the government announced the reopening at a press conference on Friday.

When asked by Avisa Oslo if he was worried about the infection numbers in the coming week, Johansen answered:

“The pandemic is not over, but not many people get sick, and at the same time as the vaccination is at the current level, I am satisfied and reasonably confident that this will go well.”
