The Oslo District Court has sentenced a man in his 20s to five years and two months in prison for having stored just over four kilos of cocaine and just over 19 kilos of cannabis in a basement shed.

The discovery was made when a dog patrol searched a basement shed in a district east of Oslo in January last year.

A friend of the landlord admitted that he was the one who kept the drugs there. The man in his 20s explained that he used cannabis regularly and that he eventually accumulated a drug debt of NOK 30,000-40,000. He was pressured and threatened by the people he owed, and he saw no solution but to keep drugs for them.

The man also admitted to having distributed 400 grams of cannabis to three different people. A vacuuming machine, zipper bags, and other packaging equipment were found in his apartment, but the man denied that the equipment was his. However, the court did not believe him – it concluded that the man was part of the distribution chain.
