Large parts of central Oslo will be sealed off in connection with Oslo Marathon on Saturday. There will also be detours on several of the bus and tram lines.
Oslo Marathon will leaves its mark on the city streets throughout Saturday. Police in Oslo says that several streets will be blocked.
Over 20,000 people have registered for this year’s Oslo Marathon, the organizer said.
Bus and tram lines with stops in areas which are being used for the race, will get detours and changes in the schedules between 5:00 and 22:00 Saturday. The bus stop Bjørvika will not be used during this period of time, and several of the buses heading from the western part of the city to other parts of the city, may be delayed, Ruter informs on their web page.
A complete overview of the extensive route changes can be found on Ruter’s web page. Among the affected bus and tram lines are the tram lines 12, 13 and 19, and the bus lines 21, 30, 31, 54, as well as a number of other bus lines.
Oslo Marathon will also lead to detours for motorists, and it may be wise to leave your car at home on Saturday. TheRoad Traffic Management Centre write on Twitter that they call on motorists to avoid driving in the city center throughout the race, .
