Oslo is one of the world’s seven most sustainable cities

Oslo takes another step toward becoming one of the greenest cities in the world.

 

Oslo has been named by trade magazine Green Building & Design (GB&D) as one of seven cities that are best planning for a greener future, along with Boston, Seattle, Melbourne, Cape Town, London and Bogotá.

GB&D cite Oslo’s work on turning the city centre into a car-free zone, its realistic goal of becoming completely climate neutral by the year 2030, as well as the efforts of state funded programme FutureBuilt as reasons for this honour.
