Violation of the infection control provisions could lead to fines of up to NOK 20,000 from Friday, the Oslo police say.

Previously, the police have given advice and guidance in the event of such violations.

Now, violations of the rules will be treated as “active spreading of infection, breach of quarantine, repeated violations, and not following orders,” the police stated in a press release.

This applies, for example, to matters related to private parties and events.

The new rules apply from Friday, November 6.

As of Monday this week, the police have registered 199 corona-related cases in Oslo.

A total of 99 cases were related to breaches of quarantine and isolation rules.
