In the last week, 279 occurrences of the mutated British variant and 14 occurrences of the South African coronavirus variant have been registered in Oslo, Oslo’s Vice-Mayor for Health Robert Steen noted.

Steen announced the new infection figures at the Oslo Municipality’s press conference about the corona situation.

At the same time as the City Council announced updates to its corona rules, Steen warned that the number of infections might change throughout the week due to increased testing.

“Now we are opening up a little more. This is the recognition that Oslo people have earned,” Steen said.

The City Council has decided to reopen leisure activities for young people up to and including the age of 19, as well as for adults to be able to participate in organized outdoor training.
