Oslo registers first “tropical night” of the year

Oslo registered its first tropical night of the year. The lowest temperature during the night was 20.1.

In order for a night to be considered a tropical night, it must be over 20 degrees from 8 PM in the evening until 8 AM the next morning.

There have been tropical nights in several places in Norway this summer, including in Bodø. The city had its first tropical night in 50 years on Wednesday night.

On the night between Thursday and Friday, Oslo registered its first tropical night of the year, Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) writes. 

At the Meteorological Institute’s measuring station, the lowest registered temperature in Oslo was 20.1 degrees on Thursday-Friday night.
