Norwegian police are investigating a teacher who allegedly raped a student on a school trip to Belgium last autumn. The teacher denies guilt.

The alleged rape took place in a hotel room in Belgium during a school trip last autumn. The case was reported the next day and was first investigated by Belgian police.

The case has now been transferred to Norway, where the teacher is being investigated by the Norwegian police, TV 2 reports.

“He denies criminal guilt and is upset about the accusations leveled against him,” the teacher’s defender, lawyer Kim Gerdts, stated.

In the wake of the incident, the teacher in his 20s was first suspended from his position at the upper secondary school in Oslo. Since then, he chose to quit his job at the school and has another job.

The girl’s lawyer Christian Flemmen Johansen says the client is relieved that the case has been transferred to Norway.
