Four men have been arrested after a taxi driver was robbed on Friday night by three or four younger men who threatened him with weapons. The robbers also took the car.

Operations manager Christian Krohn Engeseth in the Oslo Police District told the newspaper Avisa Oslo on Friday morning that four people had been arrested after the robbery.

“The police broke into an apartment in the morning in the course of an investigation. There were four men present, and they were arrested. They will be questioned,” he said.

The operations manager added that one of the four men is in his late teens, while the other three are in their early 20s.

The police were notified of the robbery in Københavngata on Dælenenga in Oslo at 2:30 AM on Friday. The car was found parked at Tøyen a while later.

Violent incident

“The taxi driver, who is now in the emergency room, has told us that he was threatened. The robbers had handguns and a knife, and he was robbed of both his telephone and car,” operations manager Line Skott told NTB.

At 4 o’clock, she stated that the driver was subjected to violence and was very affected by the incident. He was taken care of in the emergency room.

All available crews searched for the perpetrators for an hour and a half after the robbery, and the police helicopter was also used in the search.
