On Monday, a decision could be made at Oslo University Hospital (OUS) that would allow the hospital to ask employees who work with vulnerable patient groups to be asked about their vaccine status.

Press officer Anders Bayer at the hospital confirmed the information to the newspaper Avisa Oslo.

Some managers must be able to assess the risk that employees who work with particularly vulnerable patient groups pose, and they must be able to request vaccination status.

Today, the hospital does not have the legal authority to ask for the information, but the situation could be different on Monday.

The OUS currently has an overview of how many people have been vaccinated through its own vaccination program at the hospital, but employees who have been vaccinated outside the hospital are not included in the overview.

Any unvaccinated employees in the aforementioned group must be tested twice a week, in line with the Norwegian Directorate of Health’s guidelines. Employees who do not wish to declare their vaccination status will be considered unvaccinated.
