A total of 40 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection in the municipalities in the former Østfold county in the last 24 hours.

Halden registered five fewer cases than the day before. So far, 801 people in Halden have tested positive for coronavirus, Halden Municipality stated.

There has also been an increase in Fredrikstad in recent days. In the last 24 hours, nine new cases of infection have been registered, all close contacts to known cases of infection, the municipality stated.

“However, we expect some variation in the infection numbers from day to day and still consider the infection level to be low,” chief municipal physician Berit Løkken Finess noted.

According to Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK), the other cases of infection in the former Østfold county have been registered in Indre Østfold (7), Moss (7), Sarpsborg (5), and Råde (1).
