The Danish prosecuting authority has charged three men with smuggling drugs to Norway. The indictment is the result of a collaboration between the police in Denmark and Norway.

According to the indictment, which the news agency Ritzau has been given access to, a 44-year-old man is said to have smuggled over a ton of hashish and 24 kilos of cocaine to Norway. The other men are said to have contributed to hashish being smuggled to Norway.

At the beginning of January this year, a total of four men were arrested in Denmark and charged with drug smuggling to Norway. A total of 226 kilos of hashish were seized as a result of an investigative collaboration between Denmark and Norway.

According to the indictment, the defendants planned and arranged for the drugs to be handed over to a truck driver who drove the drugs to Norway. The truck driver confessed in December last year and was sentenced to four years in prison.

On Monday, another man, who handed over 200 kilos of hashish to the truck driver between January and March 2022, was sentenced to one year and nine months in prison, Danish police stated.

The case against the three men starts on September 28.
