In the last 24 hours, 27,278 people in Poland have been diagnosed with coronavirus. That is the highest daily number in 2021.

The new figures were presented on Thursday. On Wednesday, over 25,000 people were diagnosed with coronavirus.

On the same day, a three-week partial shutdown was introduced throughout the country.

Almost 2 million of Poland’s 38 million inhabitants have now been diagnosed with coronavirus. A total of 48,388 corona-related deaths have been registered in the country.

“There are no indicators that the pandemic is about to subside,” Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski said.

He has warned that the daily number of new infection cases is likely to reach 30,000 next week.
