Oslo Metro between the Norwegian parliament (Storting) and Majorstuen in Oslo will be closed while Sporveien performs maintenance from Thursday, May 13, to Sunday, May 16.
This weekend, maintenance measures in the city center tunnel and at Majorstuen metro station will be implemented.
“The maintenance work during the Ascension weekend (the Feast of the Ascension of Jesus Christ) will lead to the completion of an extensive upgrade project of the metro,” project manager Hilde Ulvik said in a press release.
In the last three years, six kilometers of new rails have been laid, and 30,000 square meters of tunnel roofs have been leak-proofed, Sporveien stated.
The metro will run as normal again from Monday, May 17.
