The number of flights to and from Torp Sandefjord Airport continued to increase from July to August. A total of 91,405 passengers traveled to or from the airport in August.

The number of travelers in August increased by 28% compared to the same month last year. International traffic increased by 19.5% to 66,305 passengers from the same month last year.

The largest percentage growth was nevertheless registered in domestic traffic, which went from just under 16,000 passengers in August last year to over 25,000 in August this year, an increase of over 59%.

“We now notice that many people are fully vaccinated, the travel advice for Europe has been revoked, and the commuting to the east has restarted as well,” marketing manager Tine Kleive-Mathisen noted.

She added that several new routes would open during September.

In comparison, a total of 193,806 passengers traveled through Torp Airport in August 2019, before the pandemic broke out. At the time, there were also almost 165,000 travelers to and from abroad.
