The manslaughter and terror charged Philip Manshaus (22) has been sentenced to 21 years in Asker and Bærum district court.

The verdict and the minimum time are in line with the prosecution’s claim, Attorney General Johan Øverberg. The minimum period is set at 14 years. The verdict is unanimous.

The defendant’s defense attorney, Unni Fries, dismissed the allegation of acquittal because she believed there was doubt about the 22-year-old’s accountability. If the court found him unjust, he could be sentenced to compulsory mental health care.

Philip Manshaus was charged with the murder of his step-sister Johanne Zhangjia Ihle-Hansen (17) and the terrorist attack at the Al-Noor Islamic Center in Bærum on August 10 last year.
