PHOTO: Car fire in Oppljo tunnel extinguished – five people are being treated by health personnel
The fire service has completed the extinguishing work in the Oppljo tunnel at Strynefjellet. A car caught fire in the tunnel. The health service is treating five people at the site.
The fire has been extinguished at 2:51 PM. All five people are said to have been in the vehicle that was burning, the Western Police District wrote.
The five are awake and conscious. The tunnel is closed for the time being.
The fire in the 4.5-kilometer long Oppljö tunnel on national road 15 occurred around 1 PM on Tuesday afternoon. The car was about two kilometers into the tunnel when it caught fire.
