After eight years as Prime Minister of Norway, Erna Solberg resigned with a ceremony at Slottsplassen.
Solberg thanked the Norwegian people for their trust in the last eight years.
“We leave the country in good shape for the next government and wish them luck,” Solberg said.
She came out of her last cabinet meeting with the rest of the government, and there they received flowers and a round of applause from those present.
Tears welled up for many during the short session outside the Palace, but most were smiling.
