The first plane with evacuated Norwegians from Afghanistan has landed at Oslo Airport Gardermoen.

The plane, which came from the Georgian capital Tbilisi, landed at 8.30 AM, according to Flightradar24.

“On board are Norwegian citizens, some family members of our locally employed Afghans, and some other European citizens,” Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide (H) told NTB on Thursday.

TV 2 also reported that the plane has landed. TV 2’s reporter Fredrik Græsvik is among the Norwegians on board, according to the channel. Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) confirmed that its correspondent Yama Wolasmal was also on board the plane.

The Norwegian authorities haven’t confirmed the number of Norwegian citizens in Afghanistan but encourage Norwegians who are still in the country to register on reseregistrering.no.

Ambassador Ole Andreas Lindemann has been sent to Afghanistan to help with the evacuation work.
