No one was injured, but five people were left homeless after a house in Holmsbu at Hurum in Asker burned down on Saturday night.

“The fire started in a caravan and spread to two cars and eventually to a house,” operations manager Gjermund Stokkli in the Oslo Police District told news bureau NTB.

The house was on fire when the emergency services arrived at the scene. The five people who lived in the house had already left the house.

“They had some cats which are not accounted for. Otherwise, no one was injured.

“Those who lived in the house have been supervised by ambulance personnel,” Stokkli added.

He says the emergency services were notified of the fire at 3:13 AM. The police and fire brigade arrived on the scene just after 3:30. At 5 o’clock Saturday morning, the fire was still active.

Holmsbu was previously part of Hurum Municipality in Buskerud.
