Several buildings are being evacuated due to a house fire in the center of Vardø on Saturday morning. It is unknown whether people were injured.
The police reported the fire just after 8 o’clock Saturday morning.
There is strong smoke on site, and several buildings need to be evacuated. The police are assisting people with evacuation. The extent of the damage is unclear. We don’t know whether people have been injured, the Finnmark Police District wrote on Twitter.
The building that is burning is located in the center near the harbor.
There is a lot of wind on the site. However, there is currently no danger of the fire spreading, and water cannons have been set up to prevent spreading.
