PHOTO: Pilots protest controversial SAS downsizing and business decisions

SAS pilots demonstrated in front of the Norwegian parliament (Storting) on Tuesday protesting the company’s first downsizing, followed by establishing subsidiaries to circumvent current employees.

During the corona pandemic, the SAS management laid off a number of pilots. New subsidiaries have now been established where pilots must apply for their old jobs.

After the demonstration at Eidsvolls plass, around 100 pilots went to Gardermoen to show the SAS management that they were ready to return to work, with their uniforms hanging on coat hangers.

The demonstration was organized by pilots and cabin crew in Norway, with support from the Norwegian SAS Pilots’ Association, SAS Norway Flyers’ Association, Norwegian Pilots’ Association, Cabin Staff’s Association, LO, and Parat unions.

SAS has repeatedly denied that they have breached any agreements by establishing new subsidiaries.
