The Coast Guard ship Tor hoisted the pride flag during the boat parade on Bergen Pride on Saturday.

A total of seven military vessels participated in the parade. The Navy took part with the old warship KNM Hitra, the coastguard ship KV Tor, the support vessel KNM Olav Tryggvason, and the ships Kvarven and Nordnes and two light boats from the Coast Guard.

Tone Størksen, the head of the Navy’s bases at Haakonsvern and Ramsund, says this is the first time a Pride flag has been hoisted on a Norwegian military vessel, Forsvarets Forum wrote on Friday.

The Norwegian Coast Guard (Kystvakten) is a maritime military force which is part of the Royal Norwegian Navy.
