The police in Oslo have started a murder investigation after a person who was stabbed in the chest died. No one has been arrested in the case.

“Based on what we know, it happened outside Anker Apartments at Rodeløkka,” operations manager Per Ivar Iversen in the Oslo Police District told the newspaper Avisa Oslo.

Anker Apartments is located in Københavngata. The police were notified of the incident at 2:45 AM on Wednesday.

“Everything indicates that it happened outdoors,” Iversen told NTB.

Witnesses have seen the incident

Task leader Svein Arild Jørundland told Avisa Oslo that witnesses had seen the incident.

“We are looking for one perpetrator,” he added.

Jørundland says that the police have a lot of information and are well on their way to solving the case.

“I have good faith that we will reach the goal (and solve the case),” he said.

Iversen told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) that the victim was bleeding a lot and that resuscitation was attempted. The person was transported to Ullevål hospital but was declared dead after a short time.
