At the end of the year, all physical documents for civil litigation cases will be digital.

On Friday, Parliament adopted that all court participants must use a digital portal for casework and preparatory documents.

Parliament Member Peter Christian Frølich believes the measure will save the courts some NOK 20 million, but that the economic benefits will be even greater.

– Lawyers often bring several rolling suitcases filled with documents for even small litigation cases. This is out of date, costs money and takes unnecessary time for both judges and parties, says Frølich.
