The 15-year-old girl who was found dead in a hotel room in Sarpsborg last year may have been unconscious for over a day.

At 2:02 PM on August 20 of last year, the 27-year-old who is now charged in the case called 113 and said that his eleven years younger girlfriend was unconscious at the hotel he stayed at in Sarpsborg.

Ten minutes later, ambulance personnel arrived and were able to establish that the 15-year-old was dead. The autopsy report showed that the girl died of an overdose.

The trial against the man in Søndre Østfold District Court took place on Monday and Tuesday. He is accused of leaving her in a helpless state from the night of Wednesday, August 19, to Thursday, August 20. In addition, he is charged with assaulting the girl.

Police were concerned

On Tuesday, the police’s chief investigator testified in court, newspaper Sarpsborg Arbeiderblad writes.

He said that the police could not rule out that the girl had been lying unconscious in the hotel room for up to 29 hours before ambulance personnel arrived at the room.

Police were concerned about the girl before she was found dead. Between March 2018 and June 2020, she was mentioned in 112 police assignments.

She had overdosed several times, and the police were worried that she was seeking out older men and exchanging sex for drugs.

On Monday, the man said in court that he does not remember much about why he did not contact the ambulance earlier. He admitted to having sexual intercourse with the girl.
