Police figures: 428 Norwegians have been reported for breaking coronavirus rules

Figures from the Norwegian Police Directorate show that at least 428 people have been reported for offenses related to coronavirus rules.

Newspaper Bergens Tidende has collected the updated figures from the Norwegian Police Directorate.

Up to and including week 43, a total of 428 people in Norway have been reported for such offenses, and 326 of them have already been prosecuted.

A total of 99 cases were settled with fines, while the charges were dropped in 18.

People were mainly charged with breaching quarantine and isolation provisions.

Norwegians reported for illegally visiting their cabins are also included in the figures.

The other cases revolve around various frauds, threats, infection transmission, and careless behavior, the newspaper noted.
