Over several years, the police have caught more and more young people walking around with knives. In total, the Oslo police have tweeted about knife-related incidents 28 times since June.

And those are only the cases the police have chosen to tweet about, the newspaper Aftenposten writes.

Recently, there have been a number of serious episodes where young people, in particular, have pulled out a knife or other types of weapon. Last week, an 18-year-old man was imprisoned after a stabbing incident at Stovner. The victim, another youth, was seriously injured.

This week another knife attack occurred in Groruddalen. Two men were stabbed. On Tuesday evening, a man in his 30s was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in the Vaterlandsparken close to Grønland in Oslo.

City Council leader Raymond Johansen told the newspaper VG on Tuesday that he is concerned about the development of knife use in Oslo.

In a report from the Oslo Police District on young criminals, it emerged that almost 20% had been caught carrying knives or other types of weapons.

Among those who commit a lot of crimes, so-called repeat offenders, the figure is higher. Half of them had been reported for carrying a knife or other weapon.

In the last three years, the police in east Oslo have registered over 75 cases involving young people under the age of 15 who have threatened people with a knife.
