The two Norwegian citizens who were arrested in the Netherlands on Friday night in connection with a shooting incident have been released.

“The Norwegian suspects are currently not directly linked to the incident. They were released on Sunday night,” spokesman Erwin Sintenie in the Dutch police informed news bureau NTB in an email.

He added that they were arrested because they exhibited suspicious behavior at a place where other arrests took place. Furthermore, they were in possession of a ketamine-like substance at the time.

The two Norwegians, a 28-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, were arrested on Friday night after a shooting incident in Bergen aan Zee near Alkmaar on Tuesday, the Dutch newspaper NH Nieuws writes.

A 45-year-old Colombian man was shot in a parking lot in the city. He later died in the hospital.

Six Colombian citizens aged 29 to 54 were also arrested. Sintenie did not want to comment further on the matter.
