Police: Three people declared dead after being hit by avalanche in Lyngen

Three people have been declared dead after being hit by an avalanche in Lyngen in Troms.

The Troms Police District confirmed the information on Twitter.

“The air ambulance has now landed, and a doctor has declared three people dead,” the Troms Police District stated on Twitter.

There were a total of nine people in the tour group.

The avalanche occurred in Kavringtinden. The newspaper Nordlys announced that the emergency services and the air ambulance were sent out after being notified of the avalanche on Wednesday afternoon.
