Police: Two 19-year-olds died in a motorcycle accident in Gjesdal

A woman and a man, both 19 years old, died in a motorcycle accident in Gjesdal in Rogaland on Sunday, the Southwestern Police District announced on Saturday morning.

The accident happened on the road between Oltedal and Dirdal. The police were notified of the accident at 1:42 AM on Sunday, and the cause of the accident is unknown.

On Sunday morning, the police stated that both were 19 years.

“The man was from Sandnes Municipality and the woman from Gjesdal. The relatives have now been notified of the deaths,” operations manager Brit Randulff wrote in a press release.

The police forensic technicians and the Norwegian Public Roads Administration’s accident group have finished their work on site. Fylkesvei 450 Hunnedalsvegen was closed for several hours at Ragsvatnet in Gjesdal due to the accident, but the road was opened to traffic on Sunday morning.
