Police in Oslo defied own warnings and used summer tires this Saturday. Unlike other drivers who did the same, get the policeman who drove in summer gear drove on.
Police warn motorists driving with summer tires on an icy road that they risk losing their license.
This rule does not apply to the policeman who drove with summer tires last Saturday morning. At least, not until further notice.
“It is being considered that the policeman’s rights will not temporarily revoked. How this will be handled will be decided on Monday,” said operations manager Villy Meier Østfold police told the newspaper Dagbladet.
Call out ended with the police car in question parked in a ditch needing assistance from the fire department to get up on the road.
In all, seven driving licenses were seized from motorists who drove with summer tires in Oslo and nearby municipalities on Friday night, according to newspaper Dagbladet.
