31-year-old received CPR on site and was later brought to Stavanger University Hospital with a rescue helicopter from the Rescue Coordination Centre Southern Norway, said South Western Police District.
Shortly later lit the hospital that the man was pronounced dead. He should have been on board a boat along with two other men when he decided to go swimming.
– The man swam in the river and was taken by the powerful stream and was unable not get out of the water, said operations leader Henning Andersen to the local newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad.
