Polish train stopped with alcohol in pallets
The customs office discovered that a Polish cargo train they stopped in Stjørdal was not only loaded with steel. They also found several thousand litres of alcohol and tens of thousands of cigarettes.
According to the Customs Union, the truck was checked on Tuesday.The customs officers found twelve pallets with a total of 6,048 litres of beer,1,411 litres of spirits, and 40,000 cigarettes.
“This is the largest alcohol haul in the Tollregion Midt-Norge this year. In total,the seizure amounts to NOK 1,123,851 in fees,’’ said Bjørn Arild Sørli, section head at border control in Tollregion Midt-Norge.
