Eriksen Søreide among Europe’s most exciting politicians for 2019, Politico writes

Norway’s Foreign Minister, Ine Eriksen Søreide of Høyre (H) was named by Politico Europe as among those at the top of their “Doers” list of people who want to change European policy in the coming year.

Politico Europe has identified 28 politicians from 28 countries that are worth watching in the coming year. There are three categories, those who want to get things done (doers), dreamers, and those who come to create waves (disruptors).

On top of the list of politicians who will embrace Europe in 2019, Politico’s European edition promises Italy’s Interior Minister, Matteo Salvini.

Eriksen Søreide tops the “doers” list in front of Spain’s Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, and German, Martin Selmayr, who was appointed General Secretary of the European Commission in April.

“The job of Norway’s first female foreign minister places her entirely in front of the West’s conflict with Russia, at a time when the potential for escalation is higher than it has been since the end of the Cold War” it stated in the explanatory memorandum.

On top of the list of dreamers is France’s Garance Pineau, while Irish Sinn Fein politician, Mary Lou McDonald, is singled out as among those Politico Europe believes will create the most noise in the coming year.
