This weekend, a lot of new corona cases have been registered in the former Telemark county. Porsgrunn Municipality is now asking the state for more vaccines.

On Sunday, Porsgrunn reported four new cases of infection, while the number the day before was 30, according to the Municipality.

“We have also asked the state to get more vaccines, but it has not yet been decided on from their side,” the Municipality wrote.

The latest figures for Skien, for Saturday, showed eleven new infection cases, while the number the day before was 29.

Due to the infection situation in the municipalities of Bamble, Porsgrunn, and Skien, the government has introduced strict regional measures.

B level

From Sunday, the municipalities were set at the B level of measures until and including Tuesday, May 25.

On Sunday, the authorities in Skien unanimously adopted the same local infection control rules as Porsgrunn and Bamble, Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) reported.

That means, among other things, that leisure activities and general sports for everyone over the age of 13 have been paused, and public transport has been restricted.
