Around 100,000 pregnant and breastfeeding women in Denmark can now be offered a corona vaccine, the National Board of Health stated on Wednesday.
Until now, it has not been possible for pregnant or breastfeeding women to be vaccinated due to a lack of documentation on whether it was safe.
However, it has been allowed in special cases.
After reviewing recent data and experiences from other countries, the National Board of Health now gives the green light for vaccination of all pregnant and breastfeeding women.
“With our recommendation, we follow a number of other European countries, such as Sweden and the Netherlands,” the National Board of Health’s chief Søren Brostrøm stated.
