Princess Märtha Louise, writing on Instagram, opens up about her struggle with depression.

“I feel like a victim in all areas of my life.”

“Some days are better than others. And I must admit that I have had some really bad days lately. Sometimes it feels like it’s too much for me and overwhelming, and I fall into a pit of despair, self-pity and feeling as if I am a victim in all areas of my life.” Märtha writes alongside a photo or her taken in Lofoten.

She writes that her depression can creep inn on her, and even though she has supportive people around “I’m not able to able to shake off the dark pit of despair”. The princess has written the post in English.

However, the photo she has posted is of her smiling. She writes that her trip has had a big impact on her mood, and she thanks her friend Maria Manzetti for taking her on this trip.

“There has been a change from being a victim to owning your world. We can all go through this change.” writes the princess.

Märtha Louise’s husband, Ari Behn, committed suicide last Christmas.
