For over 30 years, Princess Märtha Louise has had a harness race at Biri travbane. On Saturday she visited the track for the first time to present the honorary award.

The horse-loving princess, who practiced show jumping for many years, also took part in one of the races at Mjøsas bredd, writes Riks-Toto.

– “I have to do it. We are taking the challenge,” answered Märtha Louise when she was challenged to Biri on the last Saturday in July.

The pokalløpet, which has carried the princess’s name since 1985, runs over 2,100 meters with an autostart and has a first prize of 400,000 kroner. This year’s edition is the 34th in the series.
