Two employees at Myreheimen nursing home in Øksnes in Nordland have been diagnosed with coronavirus. The cases of infection are linked to the outbreak at a nightclub in Sortland.

In an update on Saturday, the Municipality noted that the two infected have been in contact with residents and other employees at the nursing home.

“At one ward, all residents are fully vaccinated. Everyone has also tested negative after the infection cases at the ward became known,” infection control doctor Ellen P. Pedersen told the newspaper VG.

She described the situation as “demanding,” as there is a shortage of personnel due to the holiday break.

A total of ten people in Øksnes have been confirmed as infected in connection with the outbreak in Sortland, which originated from the nightclub Blå bar on July 17.

On Friday, the five municipalities of Hadsel, Bø, Øksnes, Sortland, and Andøy tightened their corona measures.
