Dressed each in a yellow vest, Queen Sonja and Crown Princess Mette-Marit picked garbage with some volunteers of Sandefjord garbage team.

The royal visitors were given a white trash bag and a refuse stick each on tuesday and went to embark on the excercise and make of Sandefjord Norway’s cleanest city.
– I am very glad that the queen and the crown princess came to Sandefjord to participate in this exercise with us. This shows that the royal family appreciates the voluntary efforts being made in communities across the country, says Rannveig Horntvedt, head of the Sandefjord garbage team.
Since March 2014 the team has removed over 26 tonnes of garbage.
