A severe storm raged over Oslo on Wednesday night, and within ten minutes a new rainfall record was set.

Between 19.37 and 19.47 more than 21 millimeters of precipitation was measured. This is called a 200-year value, says the Norwegian Meteorological Institute.

It is very rare for rainy weather such as yesterday to strike the capital, writes meteorologists on Twitter.

The storm; with wind, rain and hail tore several trees over. In Helgesens gate one tree tipped over and hit three parked cars. One of them was completely ruined.

The operations center at the Oslo police also received a lot of inquiries about loose manhole covers, a lot of water and chaos.
