Oslo City Council chief Raymond Johansen tested positive for the omicron variant of the coronavirus last week. “I am very happy that I was vaccinated with two doses,” he said.
“I must admit that I got sick. I got a pretty high fever, close to 39, and that’s a lot for ‘an old man’ like me,” 60-year-old Raymond Johansen (Ap) told the newspaper VG.
On Wednesday last week, he took a corona test after getting some symptoms. On Thursday, the test results came in.
Johansen has since been isolated but has served as City Council chief and participated in digital meetings.
“I am very happy that I was double vaccinated. I am an asthmatic and a little prone to respiratory infections, but I think the effects would have been much stronger if I had not received two vaccines,” Johansen said.
