The police arrested a Norwegian and a Lithuanian man at a warehouse at Kjørbekk in Skien on Saturday, November 21.

Between 700 and 800 kilos of hashish were found in a Polish-registered tractor with a trailer, which makes this one of the largest single seizures of hashish in Norway, the Southeast Police District stated in a press release.

The turnover value for the seizure is probably around NOK 140 million.

Afterward, another Norwegian citizen was arrested by the police.

More arrests possible

“All the men are charged with serious drug crimes,” police lawyer Odd Skei Kostveit said.

“The police believe that there are several people involved, and we can therefore not rule out that more people will be arrested,” he added.

“One of the police’s hypotheses is that the hashish has arrived with the Polish trailer,” Kostveit explained.

Police believe it is likely that the hashish was intended for larger parts of the country.

The police in Telemark is leading the investigation of the case, with resources from several units in the district.
