In the early hours of Saturday the temperature was measured at 14.2 degrees at the Florida measuring station in Bergen. It is the highest temperature measured in December since the measurements started in 1993.

One of the days in July was also colder than last night’s measurement, according to Bergens Tidende.

– “July 3, the maximum temperature was measured to 12.4 degrees. In particular, it is warmer now just before Christmas than one day in the middle of summer,” says state meteorologist Lars Andreas Selberg.

The heat is partly due to wind gusts from the east.
