On Wednesday and Thursday, extremely heavy rain is expected south in Trøndelag and in Møre og Romsdal. The extreme weather has been named Gyda and is at a red danger level.

Orange danger warnings for avalanches and floods, among other things, were issued for large parts of Southern and Central Norway on Tuesday morning.

Shortly afterward, met.no announced that extreme weather is expected in Trøndelag and Møre og Romsdal.

“Due to persistent rain, we expect several stations to register a record for daily precipitation for January,” met.no stated.
