According to the police, one woman has an injury to her foot. Both women are accustomed to the mountains and well equipped.

Operations manager in the Southwestern Police District, Toralv Skaarland, told news bureau NTB that the police were notified about the women at 8:05 AM on Sunday and that the air search has not yielded results.

“We have had occasional contact with the women, but the telephone coverage is a bit poor,” he said.

He also said that the search area could be expanded but that the current search crews are accustomed to the mountains and used to solving such assignments.

“Crews from voluntary organizations have been called out together with resources from the police and rescue helicopters from Sola,” the police wrote on Twitter.
