For the first time since March, residents at nursing homes in Oslo have been infected with coronavirus by visiting relatives, the Nursing Homes Agency informs.

According to the Agency, a couple of cases have been registered.

“Before Christmas, we had no infected residents. There are now 19 infected residents and 39 infected employees.

“The main cause of the infection is still infected employees without symptoms that are not detected by the test and quarantine criteria,” director Helge Jagmann in the Nursing Home Agency noted.

During the Christmas holidays, 429 residents of the first five nursing homes in Oslo were vaccinated.

Next week, residents of 27 nursing homes will be vaccinated.
