Retired Major General Kristin Lund must repay NOK 160,000 to the Armed Forces after moving home from service abroad.

In April, newspaper Dagens Næringsliv (DN) wrote that Kristin Lund had received relocation-related money from both the UN and the Norwegian Armed Forces in connection with foreign service in 2014 and 2019.

The case has now been investigated, and the conclusion is that Lund must pay NOK 160,000 back to the Armed Forces.

“The Armed Forces decided to provide Kristin Lund with logistics support. In our review of this case, we have found that most of the support the Armed Forces organized for Kristin Lund falls under the purpose of the UN relocation grant,” the Armed Forces’ spokesman Frank Sølvsberg wrote in an email to the Forsvarets forum.

In April, Lund told Forsvarets forum that she would repay the money if the review concludes that a mistake has been made.
