Risk of major strikes in the public sector
The Police, Nav, Tax Administration, Customs Service and the country’s universities and colleges are among the organisations that could be paralyzed if there are strikes in the public sector.
The risk of Strike is considered high after three out of four confederations broke negotiations with the state on Saturday night.
– We are very far apart. This is about principles, and experience shows that it is far more difficult to reach an agreement somewhere in the middle than when the disagreement is purely about monetary terms, says chief negotiator Tone Rønoldtangen in LO .
The parties will convene for their first meeting with the State mediator Nils Dalseide on Wednesday at 8 am. His deadline for helping the parties reach an agreement is set to midnight on 25 May.
